Centennial Celebration
May 26th 2021
In May 1921 James Rosie opened his accountancy practice in Galashiels. Obviously, the firm has grown over the 100 years, not least merging with Welch & Co in 2007 to form JRWCA, however we thought it might be interesting to look back. And we are sure some of our ‘Rosie’ clients will remember some of these events and people.
Historic records show adverts from 100 years ago today on May 26 1921 & June 1921 in the Southern Reporter and a 1922 phone directory listing.
James Rosie & Parners have had various Galashiels Office locations over the 100 years including:
1921 – 1923 Wilder-Burn
1923 – 1930/1 Roxburgh Street
1931/2 – 1993/4 Royal Bank Buildings, High Street
1993/1994 Riverside House, Ladhope Vale, where we are now

Through our researching we also uncovered some original drawings for the conversion of our current Galashiels office and some pre-conversion pictures shown here, to which James Rosie moved into in 1994.
