JRW Sleep in the Park
A team from local chartered accountancy firm JRW took part in the Sleep in the Park event last weekend, raising more than £2,500 for this homeless charity.
The Social Bite charity and their Sleep in the Park events are playing a vital role in trying to eradicate homelessness in Scotland. The JRW team of five, Alister Biggar, Scott Wallace, Elaine Miller, Brona MacDougall and Kenny Logan all played their own part by taking part in the Edinburgh event at the weekend, making a valuable contribution through fundraising and helping to raise awareness of the plight of homeless people.
With a target of £1,500, the team are delighted to have exceeded this amount and so far they have raised £2,581.25. The JRW team would like to thank everyone who has generously supported their fundraising effort, it is an excellent contribution to the overall fundraising aim of Social Bite.
Here are some quotes from team members about just why they took part.
“What a night in Princes Street Gardens on Saturday 8th December. A real test of endurance and harrowing to think people have to go through that every night just to survive. It makes us very thankful for family, friends and the luxuries we have. Social Bite is an amazing organisation and it was fantastic to be able to take part and make such a huge impact to those less fortunate.
Thank you to all who donated to our fundraising efforts, it was amazing to smash our target and raise such an amount to assist in the eradication of homelessness in Scotland.” Kenny Logan
“What a challenge! It was very tough to try and stay dry and warm. It makes us think of people who have to go through this every night of their lives and makes us take for granted the luxuries we have. Hats off to all those within Social Bite for the amazing work they do.” Scott Wallace
“It makes us appreciate all we have and what we take for granted. Unbelievable to think some people do not have a place to lay their heads at night to sleep and stay warm. Glad I took part and delighted at the amount of money raised by the team.” Elaine Miller
Donations can still be made up to Sunday 16th December so if you wish to donate please visit the JRW fundraising page
